CHAKRAS
Introduction
Ase, chi, prana, despite their translations from different languages, they all have a commonality. That is signifying the vital life force/ spiritual energy that flows through beings. Now chakras, called by various names depending on your nation and culture, are described as energy centers that contain the life force of an individual. This life force is stored within what is called the energy body. The energy body is the invisible part of our human anatomy that is invisible to human eyes, this is where our energy or prana flows.
The word “Chakra” is translated to Sanskrit meaning wheel or disk. But chakras actually refer to spiritual energy centers within the human body, of which there are seven pivotal points. The first starts at the very bottom of the spine (your tailbone), with the last point located at the top of your head. It should also be known that the main seven chakra points are usually split into a hierarchy of lower and higher chakras– respective of their position from the base of the spine to the top of the head. This article details the mechanisms involving the lower chakras.
Root Chakra
Represented by the color red, the root chakra, or Muladhara chakra as is known in Sanskrit, is located at the base of your spine, it also influences the parts of the body extending below the spine(hips, legs, feet). This chakra point came into being at the time of birth. Hence, the root chakra governs your foundation of life. It imprints and influences your survival instincts and habits. Your root chakra is responsible for your sense of security and stability.
The Muladhara chakra serves as the foundation of your being as well as the bedrock for your remaining six(6) chakra points. So, it is evident that the condition of your root chakra greatly impacts the well- being of your chakra system. Experiences during your childhood are deeply imprinted upon your root chakra. Chiefly year 0- 7 is when the root chakra is developed.
Elements such as your home and school environments, traumas and essentially the fundamentals of life which you were educated and raised upon, have an immense effect on the health of your root chakra.
